Parsonage Fund for Student Opportunities
The Parsonage Fund is designed to assist students with their personal and professional development. The fund supports capstone projects and research; presentations at and participation in professional conferences; creation of community service projects and trips; involvement in local, regional, and national workshops; membership to professional organizations; and the list goes on. View the 2011-2012 Parsonage Fund for Student Opportunities Report to learn more about how this fund is working for students.
Students are invited to develop and submit proposals that will fund travel, equipment, fees, and other expenses related to these experiences six times during the 2012-2013 school year. Deadlines are at 4:30 pm on these dates:
- September 26, 2012
- November 6, 2012
- January 22, 2013
- March 26, 2013
- May 7, 2013
Find Parsonage Fund Application materials, guidelines, and tips for writing a successful proposal on My Northland under the Campus Life tab, in the Parsonage Fund section. If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Craig at scraig@northland.edu.
History of Parsonage Fund
During his tenure as Northland’s 10th president (1987-2002), Robert Parsonage promoted by example and espoused the ideal of the “servant leader.” His model demonstrates that servant leaders use their vision in service to society. It is Bob’s wish to nourish students’ imagination and to prepare them in becoming the citizen-leaders of the future. This fund was established in honor of his service to the college community and is designed to provide financial support for student-initiated leadership projects. The Parsonage Fund has supported more than 775 students since its inception in 2002-03, awarding more than $265,000.
For more information or questions regarding the Parsonage Fund, contact Stacy Craig at (715) 682-1232 or scraig@northland.edu.
