Local musician Dan Clark featured guest on Studio Sessions on 97.7 WRNC
February 23, 2012
Northland College radio station 97.7 WRNC-LP features local musician and Bayfield resident Dan Clark on the next installment of "Studio Sessions" on Friday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. WRNC Music Director and Northland student Jeremiah Cornehl hosts the radio segment, interviewing local artists and bands about the music they create. Musicians also perform live in-studio or bring tracks from their latest work for broadcast.
Dan Clark has been playing a mix of folk rock, rockabilly and Americana music for more than 25 years. Clark has traveled across the nation, playing a variety of venues. He moved back to the Northwoods five years ago from Nashville, Tennessee. While living in Nashville, Clark had the opportunity to record music at the renowned Sound Emporium, which has produced recordings from Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and more. Clark says he plays music on his harmonica and custom John Gray guitar because he "likes to do it."
"If I can find an audience large or small that will appreciate it in anyway, then that gives me a boost too," says Clark. "It's therapeutic for me. For the longest time, it was hard for me to write something down that was real and true to me and put it out there for other people to listen to or criticize or love or hate."
Next week, "Studio Sessions" will feature Ashland locals Eric and Adam Doane of the group Hoff Stevens on 97.7 WRNC.
