Profile
I began visiting the Chequamegon Bay area the summer of 2010, and I fell in love with the water, the forests, and the community. The following summer I moved here. My passion for local, healthy food led me to start a small farm with my partner where we raise heritage breed chickens, pigs, and turkeys. I started as Northland's transfer enrollment coordinator in February 2012. What I love most about my job is being able to work with and help transfer students who are eager to go in a new direction and make positive changes for themselves. The Northland community is wonderfully supportive and positive. I feel grateful to be a part of it and to live in such a unique and beautiful area of the world.

Favorite thing to do in Ashland
It depends on the season. In the fall and spring my favorite activities are hiking, camping, and paddling. In the winter I enjoy the many and varied cross country ski trails and alpine skiing in the area. In the summer I get to the Lake as often as possible - to windsurf, picnic, bonfire, read, or sail. Bicycling is also a favorite of mine, along with berry/apple picking. In any season I am consumed with gardening and farming - it brings me great joy to plant, to raise healthy animals, and to harvest.
