Veteran Benefits
If you are currently serving in the military, have served in the past, or are a dependent of someone who has, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) at the federal level. Northland College actively assists eligible students with applying their educational benefits towards a Northland College degree. Veterans who are Wisconsin residents may also be eligible to participate in the VetEd reimbursement program offered through the state of WI Department of Veterans Affairs.
Northland College’s V.A .Certifying Official does not make determinations of eligibility, nor is she able to discuss specific remuneration amounts with eligible students. Please contact your V.A. representative with eligibility questions. If you are not sure of who your V.A. representative is, you can obtain further information by calling 1 (888) GI-BILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) or check the Federal G.I. Bill Web site.
The V.A. prefers that you apply for benefits using the V.A. online application portal. If you do not want to apply online, you can download the forms from the V.A. web site and mail them in, or you can visit your local county V.A. office. Northland College’s Registrar’s Office can also help you obtain the forms. The V.A. highly recommends that all benefit-eligible students file the FAFSA and apply for financial aid, as benefits generally do not cover the entire cost of attendance.
If you are a Wisconsin resident and wish to find out more about the state VetEd reimbursement program, please visit the Vet Ed Web site. The Wisconsin G.I. Bill Tuition Remission Program cannot be used at Northland.
Once you have completed the admission process and registered for courses, Northland College’s Certifying Official is responsible for certifying your enrollment and any subsequent changes in enrollment to the V.A. during your time at Northland. Please contact her once you have registered for courses.
