Student Responsibilities
A Northland student that is receiving financial aid is required to:
- Provide valid information on financial aid applications, and provide any verification documents required by the Financial Aid Office. Inaccurate information or omissions can result in changes to your award.
- Keep the Financial Aid Office informed of changes in the family financial situation.
- Notify the Financial Aid Office of any assistance received from outside sources.
- Accept or reject any Financial Aid Award, and return the signed award letter to the Financial Aid Office.
- Complete your Federal Stafford Loan promissory note or a Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) application and promissory note and turn it in to the Financial Aid Office on a timely basis. The Federal Stafford Loan promissory note can be completed online. If you do not wish to complete your note online or your parents are interested in a PLUS loan, you can contact the Financial Aid Office by email or phone.
- Use all financial aid funds for educational related expenses.
- Comply with the requirements for loan entrance and exit interviews.
- Notify the Financial Aid Office and lenders of any changes in name, permanent address, and enrollment status.
- Maintain copies of all correspondence with the Financial Aid Office and outside agencies. Instructions on how to obtain a tax transcript can be found here.
