Why get Involved?
In order to experience your Northland education in all of its fullness, be ready to explore and engage yourself into your new home and life. That means that you can jump right in and become actively involved in your learning both in and out of the classroom. Getting involved with your learning beyond the classroom walls will be an exciting and important part of your experience at Northland.
There are many opportunities and ways for you to get involved on campus and within the community. We encourage you to explore your possibilities, build on your interests and also stretch yourself a bit to try some new options. The following is a small sampling of the kind of opportunities that you can become engaged in:
- Volunteer with various tribal, governmental, private and non-profit organizations/agencies
- Check out the Leadership and Active Citizenship Certification programs; learn some great skills and gain experience while contributing to the local community
- Become involved in the Northland College Student Association, (NCSA) and share your voice and talents
- Join a student club or organization
- Plan on becoming an Outdoor Orientation Trip leader
- Job shadow a professional working in an area of interest
- Pursue an internship in your major or career interest
Getting involved is a great way for you to connect with students, staff/faculty, and professionals in your field of interest, as well as becoming acquainted with the local and regional communities. You will also gain new information, skills, and have great fun along the way. Get involved now!
