Name: Victoria Dawes
Area of Study: Art
Graduation Date: 2013
Hometown: Dunedin, New Zealand
Campus Involvement: ECCO Haus, Art League, Comm Comm
Are you a transfer student?: Yes. I transferred to Northland to go to a smaller school that focused more on hands-on learning and experience.
When I'm not in class, you might find me: in the Art Building
What was the biggest surprise when you came to Northland? I arrived during a blizzard, I understood that there would be a lot of snow, but seeing it was another story!
Who is your favorite faculty member and why? Anna Metcalfe because I have learned a lot from her!
What is the best advice you could give to a prospective student? Visit the ECCO Haus or even live there.
Why did you choose Northland? Because of its small student body and practical nature of many of its courses
What do you love most about living in Ashland, WI? Being next to Lake Superior, although it is not an ocean, it makes living on a large continent much more familiar (to home).
What do you love about Northland? All of the friendly faces
What are your plans after graduation? Visit new places and continue learning more about ceramics
How have scholarships and financial aid affected your educational experience? I wouldn't be able to attend Northland without the financial aid I have received!
