Applicants are evaluated on an individual basis. Each applicant is evaluated in these three areas: Courses and grades, class rank and ACT or SAT test scores.

Freshman Applicants

Freshman applicants need to submit the following to be considered for admission:

  1. Application for Admission apply online for free. Or by paper there is a $25 application fee. Northland has rolling admission.
  2. Official high school transcripts.
  3. ACT or SAT score (Test codes ACT: 4624 SAT: 1561).
  4. A recommendation or letter of recommendation from your high school Guidance Counselor or a Teacher.

Transfer Applicants

Northland considers a variety of factors when reviewing applicants. Transfer students need to have at least a 2.5 GPA to be considered for admission. Perhaps the most important factor is your performance in courses at accredited colleges you previously attended.

Transfer applicants need to submit the following to be considered for admission:

  1. Application for Admission - Apply online or by paper. There is no application fee and Northland has rolling admission.
  2. Official college transcripts from all institutions that you have attended
  3. Official high school or official GED report - (Federal law requires that we have your high school transcripts on file before you can enroll. If you have earned a prior degree, associate's or higher, you may be exempt from submitting high school transcripts.)
  4. ACT or SAT scores are generally not required for a student who has been out of high school for more than two years or who transfer in a significant number of credits. If, after reviewing your application and credentials, we would like you to take either test, we'll let you know.
  5. A recommendation, or letter of recommendation from someone who knows you well, such as a professor or Guidance Counselor
