Northland College is accepting applications for an environmental educator to work at its Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute. This person will assume a leadership role with the well-established LoonWatch program, as well as working with lake habitat research and/or education programs. LoonWatch was established in 1978 and has involved citizens in monitoring programs longer than anyone else in Wisconsin.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing an annual monitoring program, administering the Sigurd T. Olson Loon Research Award, designing, delivering and assessing education programs to a variety of audiences; collaborative grant writing and interacting with donors and volunteers; supervising Northland College student interns. The position will also focus on the broader topic of lake habitats and the candidate will work closely with other Institute and Northland College educators.
Position requires extensive travel.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree preferred in life science, conservation, environmental education or related field required or equivalent experience. At least two years experience in outreach education; and demonstrated administrative skills. Position is FT with benefits, involves travel and reports to the Institute Director.
